A full and fun week...

Everlea was on school vacation this week so with that plus the combination of another 1000 lbs of snow (ok slight exaggeration but it seems like it), I decided I wanted to get out more and not feel housebound or succumb to cabin fever.

So this week has been full of playdates and outings, the first being at my friend Jen B.'s house on Monday afternoon along with another friend she had over from church and her girls. Everlea always has alot of fun at their house and never wants to leave. :)

Tuesday we went to the Discovery Stop Indoor Playland and met my friend Karen and her daughter Emma and my friend Judy and her twin grandchildren (the latter are friends of Ev's from our playgroup days at the church). We had a great time and enjoyed lunch together afterwards. It was cute to see Everlea and Emily (one of the twins) reconnect after quite a long time apart. They are only 4 weeks apart in age, so it was fun watching them walk around holding hands and Everlea dictating what they were going to do next. Judy and I totally cracked up at one point when Everlea pulled up a chair for Emily by this big climbing structure and said, "You sit here Emily and you can watch me play." So Emily sat in her little chair and watched Ev through the mesh for a few minutes while Everlea played inside it. After a few minutes of us snickering Judy released her to go inside and play too. The funniest thing is that Emily isn't typically one to do something she doesn't want to do...so we found it pretty amusing.

Tues. evening we were invited to a restaurant by a friend who had this large pool table/gathering area reserved for 25 people for 2 hours. We didn't realize it was his birthday that day! Ran and I had a nice time out, played some pool (which I'm pretty horrible at but have enjoyed the few times I've played) and mingled with some mutual friends. Meanwhile, Everlea had a fun evening at our friends the Steels. Thanks guys!

Wednesday was my cleaning/stay home day in the morning then in the afternoon went to town for groceries and birthday present shopping for family and friends of Everlea that had/have birthdays. (Feb. & March has/have been packed full and we have 2 parties to go to this weekend, plus Ev's is in a few weeks too).

Today, Jen and the boys came over here for an afternoon playdate. We've been trying to maximize the playdates for the kids before school starts up again next week.

So, it's been a fun week with friends and the week has seemed to fly by.

Throughout the course of the week and after each snowfall Everlea and daddy reconditioned the sledding hill once again so they have been enjoying that a few times this week too. What else is there to do when there is no end in sight to the white stuff. Did I mention this has been a record breaking year for snow since like the 1860's I think. Yikes.

Well, March is right around the corner and then maybe spring? Here's hoping...
