One lucky little girl...

...received some awesome painted pictures in the mail on Saturday from some sweet boys.

Thanks Elijah, Logan and Cam, Everlea loved them!
We love and miss you lots.

Our "normal" life begins...

Another Monday here starting our 4th week in NC. Today marks the first day of the first week where the semblance of a normal lives kicks in. Well normal for us anyways. Now we are in the large majority of the 9 to 5ers. This will be Ran's first full week of work at his new job, he started last Thursday, so got 2 days in last week. So far so good as far as the company and work etc. The first day was somewhat of a kick in the pants though, because the homes they are installing in are mostly new construction, which also mean no air conditioning. He just wasn't prepared with a fan, enough water etc. so it was a little rough, but by day two, which also was Friday (end of the work week) he was a little better prepared. This is definitely going to be a change/transition for all of us, but hopefully it'll be positive. The biggest change for him is working for someone/a company again, working a 40 hr work week and having a commute, and the biggest change for me is having him gone all day. I really got used to the more flexible schedule of self-employment and being able to visit him occasionally at jobs of people we knew. Plus, there is the missing of family and friends, so there are adjustments all around...but nothing that we didn't expect and I think over time will get better.

It definitely makes me appreciate weekends more than ever now though. In the past sometimes they were just continuations of my week, but now it's precious family time together.

We had a nice weekend, it consisted of car hunting on Sat. (Ran's work truck lease is ending the 1st of Aug. so we are looking for a little commuter car for him as his new job actually has a 40 min. commute. We don't need his big truck anymore and we want to downsize esp. with the gas prices these days). We didn't end up getting anything, but hopefully soon as he takes my vehicle to work and leaves the truck, but because we are already over on lease miles I don't like taking it out much.

Sunday we went back to the first church we tried out, we are still a little unsure of the whole church thing and go back and forth on the whole big church/med./small church pros and cons. In the meantime, we really enjoy the services at this church and so for now, it's nice to just get fed for a little bit before totally jumping in somewhere. After church we drove around some neighboring towns, had brunch at a cute little restaurant in a historic district of one of the towns, then headed home and in the late afternoon enjoyed some pool time. The Andersons called when we got home to invite us over for supper and a movie, so we ended off a nice weekend with good friends. It really is a blessing having them nearby.

So, we'll deal with "normal" life for now, which is in many ways the means to the bigger picture of what we want to accomplish here. Let's see if our plans line up with what God has in mind for us, only time will tell...

So thankful...

Today I had a situation happen that could have turned into the biggest nightmare for me, but it ended the best possible way, and for that I am so incredibly grateful. I seriously was thankin' Jesus all the way home. :)

I needed a stamp for a letter this morning, so went out to the car to get one out of my purse. My purse was not there. Horrified, I realized that I likely left it at Dunkin Donuts. Was at Dunkin's yesterday afternoon! I instantly called D & D and the manager answered, and long story short, he told me he found my purse right after we left and kept it in a safe place. So all is well, but I did not take for granted how very bad that could have made life for me for all that would have needed to be replaced and/or cancelled. Relief doesn't begin to describe the feeling.

Thank you God!!

My little pool poser...

Fun at the pool...

Since our pool passes came yesterday, Ev and I decided to go for a swim here in our subdivision today. There are 2 pools, one really close (very easy walk) and the other is maybe a mile away. The first one is just a basic large pool, but the second one is alot more fun. It has a water slide, water spouting mushrooms and it's bigger. We had alot of fun and will get good use out of it on these hot summer days.

Today was a good day...

Today was one of the those days that I can look at and say, it was a good day today...
Some of the highlights: I got my NC driver's license (passed the written (computerized) 25 question test. It may sound funny but I was wicked nervous about it, mostly cause it's a crazy long wait (was there for almost 3 hours from start to finish) so I didn't want to repeat that, plus I just didn't want to FAIL and pay another $32. :) Ran got his a few days ago. To pass the time I studied the manual but most of the time a fun & friendly lady and her two teenagers were sitting beside me and we chatted for quite some time, so that helped in whittling down the hours, and hallelujah when my number was finally called I passed! :)
Ran also called to tell me (while I was at the DMV he took Ev around to toy and dept. stores to kill time) that he's starting work tomorrow!... so I'm really happy for him and of course getting a paycheck again will be nice.
Ran fixed my brake pads yesterday and today we got my car registered and that was the last of what we needed to get done for running around stuff (it's been a little crazy the last few weeks getting things changed over, new accts, furniture shopping etc. etc., I was just so thankful with the timing of it all, that he's starting work the day after we got everything important completed that we needed to do together. God is good with timing stuff. :)
Some minor but still good things that continued to make my day happy...
I got my cool new hand blown glass hummingbird feeder from UPS today.

We finally got our subdivision pool passes in the mail.

...and, it's a beautiful evening so Ev and I are hanging out in the backyard (with no mosquitos or black flies), she's playing with her roly poly (a type of bug here that she likes) as I update my blog.
so yep, it's been a good day.

Our new bed... hurray!

We were able to pick up our new bed frame on Monday, and our new mattress came UPS that same day!! Last night was day two on our bamboo covered memory foam bed and so far so good. We find it really comfortable (the bamboo fabric is wicked soft and breathable).

I love our new bed frame too, I'm not sure we've ever had an actual frame with headboard etc. since we've been married, so it's been nice to have this new addition to our bedroom. It's simple and slightly asiany (is that a word hee hee) and we turned it from a panel bed into a platform bed with Ran adding plywood to the inside/bottom of it.
It's nice for Ran and I to actually be sleeping in the same bed again...:) as the blow up bed was hurting his back so bad he was sleeping next to me on a thin piece of foam on the floor.
So that was the last of the furniture we needed except for a few small bedside tables which I'm planning on getting at Target. Oh and a computer chair, but there isn't any hurry on that.
It's nice to be done with all the furniture shopping for now, but it sure was fun getting the few new pieces. :)

Birds and Bunnies...

After all the snake talk in my last post, I have to note that we have not seen any crazy critters, and we've done alot of walking on trails, along little streams, in woods etc. in the last 2 weeks. Not to say they aren't in there, but so far I haven't seen anything that has freaked me out.

In fact the main wildlife we get in abundance here are birds and bunnies. We put out a feeder and as a family have been enjoying gathering in front of the breakfast nook window, watching the variety of birds that come to our feeder. The most popular being the female cardinal so far. The others that we see are the male cardinal (has always been my favorite), titmouse, catbird, mockingbird, goldfinches, chickadees, a woodpecker and we think a purple finch. Not to mention the sparrows, robins etc. We've gotten Ev really excited about birdwatching, so sometimes she'll just plant herself on a chair by the window with the binoculars (often backwards) :) and inform us when any birds arrive. Picture a little kid trying to whisper but yell at the same time (because we told her that if she yells they'll fly away)...so it's "Mom, Dad, come quick it's a red bird!!" or whatever she sees at the time. It's quite cute/funny and we love her appreciation of them.

In NH we were hard pressed to get any birds at the feeder I put out, still not sure why. So it's been fun to watch them on a regular basis here. I'm going to try and get some different types of food and maybe another feeder to attract different varieties, and I ordered a really cool blown glass hummingbird feeder online, so I can't wait til that arrives.

Bunnies are another animal here in our subdivision in great amounts. We see at least two in our yard every day, and Ev and I were walking down the trails the other day and there had to be like 7-8 of them just sitting in these people's fenced in back yard, it looked like a bunny sanctuary. :)

Ev and I refer to them as flopsy, mopsy, cottontail and peter. I'll say, "who do you think that one is Everlea" and she'll pick one off the list. Sometimes, she'll say, "I think that's Peter, do you think he's being naughty" (referring to the Beatrix Potter book Peter Rabbit we read her) :)

So that's pretty much it, no people or small animal eating snakes or bugs yet. :)

Ummm yah we won't be using this grill...

What I'd like to know is where is the snake that belongs to this perfectly intact shed skin?

When we got here, there was a grill on the patio in the back, so Ran checked it out so see if it was usable. This snake skin is what he discovered inside. The grill doesn't work anyways, but it had a usable propane tank that we were able to use for the new grill we bought (to Ev's left in bottom pic). I can imagine we'll be doing quite a bit of grillin' this summer, so hopefully no critters will be looking for a home in the new one. :)

Speaking of joy...

...this little person sure brings alot of joy and laughter to our lives... (this was tonight at 10:40 p.m., I think that afternoon nap we both had on the couch today wasn't the best idea :)

I peeked my camera around the corner...she and Ran were enjoying his new Coldplay CD.

Find the joy in your life...

...and allow others to experience joy from you... that was one of the cool messages in the movie "The Bucket List" that Ran and I watched last night (wish I could have watched it with you too Jen :) Great movie, have to put the disclaimer that there were a few things in it, but overall I (we) loved it!

...this wasn't a main part, but one of the things on the list for one of the men was to kiss the most beautiful women in the world, let's just say that part made me cry... :)

So, if you are looking for a good rental this weekend, definitely check this one out!

My new kitchen table...

We had our old kitchen table for as long as I can remember; we were long overdue for a change but it was never a priority, so when we moved we gave our old one to U. Lyle so we'd have an excuse to get a new one when we got here. We've done quite a bit of looking in the past week and have seen ones we've liked but not necessarily the price. Well on our way home from an errand yesterday we stopped into a furniture store I've been wanting to check out and headed to the back to their clearance section (or bumps and scratches section). We've gotten alot of name brand furniture (in NH too) in this part of the stores. I saw the table and chairs right away and was like "ooh yah I like that". I liked the price even more. The same table was on their floor for almost double the price but this particular one had a dinged corner which isn't noticeable unless you sit on that side. So I'm very happy with finally a new and more contemporary/stylish table and it has a hidden leaf that makes the table bigger when we have company. We also bought a cool bed frame too (on a great sale in their regular section), I was in the market for a platform bed, this one is called a panel bed that looks similar and Ran can easily put the wood at the bottom to turn it into one that'll work for our new PacBamboo Memory Foam Mattress coming hopefully early next week. I'll get more pics when I get them all set up, as well as inside pics of the house which I haven't gotten to yet, I wanted all the rooms set up before I post them. It's just fun to finally replace an outdated piece of furniture, and my philosophy is that there is a great deal out there just waiting for me to find! :)

Rewind a little...and a few thanks...

I realized I never told the story of getting our stuff with U-Pack 1 1/2 weeks ago. When we got here that Sunday I called them on Monday a.m. and they went out of their way to get our stuff to us same day even though they had a packed schedule. I explained how we only had Randy's brother for that day as we were flying him home the next day (per the 5th changed ticket with Southwest). So the driver came at 9:30 that night, had to back up down the whole street and park in the driveway in the dark. He was great! Ran and Lyle unloaded the whole truck in an hour and a half (trying to be semi-quiet as it was after 11 by the time they finished). They picked up the truck 2 days later. So thanks U-pack, you guys were great, good and friendly customer service and reasonable price-wise. Definitely would recommend to friends/family.

So the next day Ran brought Lyle part way to meet his friend who would bring him the rest of the way to the Raleigh airport. Well since we barely were in our house, had no internet, I couldn't confirm his ticket online, but I was 99.9% positive that his flight was at 11:30 a.m. Well I was 100% wrong, it was supposed to be at 9:55 a.m. I had changed his ticket 5 times in 4 weeks so I was remembering the Monday ticket I had booked before changing it to Tues. Well long story short it all worked out, again great customer service and all the free changes with Southwest already put them on my good list, but after missing his flight they just put him on the next available flight and he got the 11 a.m. flight with no extra charges. So thanks Southwest!

Lastly a huge thanks go out to Lyle! He drove Ran's truck out the day after us, came and helped Ran move and was so laid back about the missed flight and my misinformation (I felt terrible but thankfully it worked out OK still) and he was totally fine about everything. So thanks Lyle!!

I wanted to give kudos to these 2 companies, because I've also had my share of frustrations with big companies lately, that have terrible customer service. So, I appreciate it so much when a company still works with their customers to make their business dealings with them as nice and accommodating as possible.

Didn't know this day would come so soon...

Walking at 14 mos, potty trained at 2 1/2, driving at 4!! hee hee.

Another advantage to living in the south, it is yard sale central, which I love!

This was our awesome and free item we got during our yardsaling venture on Sat. a.m. In this multi-family subdivision yard sale we went to, they were all wrapping up for the day (alot of them end by noon, which I realize I need to get out alot earlier to get the good stuff) but anyways, Ran was looking at this Barbie jeep and the lady told him that he could just have it. He offered to pay her something for it but she wouldn't take anything. I talked with her for quite awhile while Ran loaded it in the car and she was super nice and they were a christian family, so she was sharing stuff with me about the area churches, schools, etc. Thanks Debbie! :) All Ran had to do was get a battery charger for it, their dad had replaced the battery with a lawnmower battery which actually works better and it goes faster. After a few near collisions into mailboxes Ran realized you can adjust the speed slower...but after using it awhile Ev got pretty good with it at both speeds and she loves it!

To the Many Great Men in My Life...

...that call themselves "Dad"
... Happy Father's Day!!

And to my 2 favorites...

...and love goes out to my father-in-law Tad serving as a missionary in Thailand, another great example of a father who installed in his sons what a good father should be so that as a result his son (Randy) turned out to be a pretty great guy and loving father to his daughter (& son Rogan hee hee).

"Sherman made the terrible discovery that men make about their fathers sooner or later... that the man before him was not an aging father but a boy, a boy much like himself, a boy who grew up and had a child of his own and, as best he could, out of a sense of duty and, perhaps love, adopted a role called Being a Father so that his child would have something mythical and infinitely important: a Protector, who would keep a lid on all the chaotic and catastrophic possibilities of life." ~Tom Wolfe, The Bonfire of the Vanities

A few pics of our subdivision...

Something we really enjoy about this subdivision is that everything is connected by trails, so we just go out our backyard and follow them. There are many little bridges you use to cross over little streams/ditches throughout.

We tend to set all the dogs off in the neighborhood when we walk along them, because you walk behind peoples houses, but most are fenced yards, and you tend to weave in and out of wooded sections. Rogey is really good about just walking by them, so he doesn't engage in a bark fest and they quiet down once we pass by.

You can walk to the park, pool, pond etc. all from the trail system. So I took some pics on our walk yesterday.

Oh and we also discovered that these trails are lined with tons of blackberry bushes that should be ripening in a few weeks. I think a blackberry pie will be in our near future. :)

A cool place to go on hot days...

Before we even moved out here I did some research of area places etc. and did a search for aquatics type places online. I found this place that looked pretty cool, it was an aquatics and fitness center in the next town over (it's about 9 miles from us). We checked it out the other day, and I was just going to get more literature for it, but they were offering a great special for their signup fee, so I did it right then! I must say I'm very excited about this place. Not only does it have a huge fitness center, indoor pool, tons of classes etc., they also have childcare for $1 an hour and each day they have something different for your kids (arts & crafts, etc.). The best part though (for the summers anyways) is they also have a 2.5 acre water park. So, Ev, her new little buddy Carly and I tested it out this week (you can use it as much as you want and occasionally bring guests during the week) and this place is awesome! You can bring all sorts of floaties, they have water slides, a zero entrance area etc., lots of fun! It's also a great deal, another big bonus...Ev is free (under 5) and I pay $38.50/month (and no yearly obligations) for use of all the fitness center and water park area. I'm looking forward to starting a regular exercise class schedule once we get a little more settled, but in the meantime, we will thoroughly enjoy the waterpark!

These last two pics are of Everlea busting a move (dancing). She does this alot lately and it really makes me laugh. She does it in random places when good beat music is playing, I'll even catch her doing it in front of mirrors in clothing stores. The funniest thing about it, and this will only be funny for you Seinfeld fans out there, she dances exactly like Elaine, thumbs and all, she really cracks us up (she must get this skill from her dad!! :)

The house...

We decided to get into a rental house for awhile while we check out the area, real estate, job for Ran etc. etc. We have a pretty reasonable lease in the event we want to get out of it in less than a year and we met the landlords on Sunday and they seem like a super nice family.

Here are a few pics of the front of the house and the last pic is of the backyard. I'll try and get a few more of the backyard to get a better perspective. The area behind Ev in the last picture, is a big patch of woods with trails on either side leading throughout the subdivision. I'm actually enjoying it alot and it's fun and easy to just walk Rogan outside on the trails in the morning and evenings or for quick potty needs we just let him in the backyard woods. So far that has worked out well. The house is at the very end of a quiet cul-de-sac so because of all the mature growth, you can't see the neighbors from our back yard.

I'll follow up with inside pics in a few days once we get the rest of the unpacking done which we are pretty close. It's past midnight, so I'll call it a night for now. Tomorrow we are going to attempt to get up a bit earlier to hit some yard sales.

I have to add for you Jen that the backyard is a bird sanctuary and I'm going to get some feeders and document for you some interesting birds we see. The mature trees and bushes are awesome too and huge!! The hydrangea bush in the last backyard pic is something like 5' by 6'. I'll have to get more pics of the foliage here too, very pretty.

Yay! Back online...

Hmmm, where to begin....

Well I'll update a little on the closing which was a week ago today (wow we've been here almost a whole week hard to believe!). We got the official word at 10 a.m. and closed at 3 p.m. that day. It went smoothly, however, we didn't see the buyer (well I didn't) because she didn't come til 3:30, so we signed our few papers and then had to swing by later to pick up some stuff from her and Ran just ran in and did that.

We didn't get complete closure with the rent situation, but it was an ending that I at least felt at peace with. The buyer is on a payment plan with us for the remaining rent owed. We have no idea if we'll ever see the rest due us, but at this point that is between her and her conscience (God :). We have it in writing, but still, we'll not pursue anything legally if she doesn't pay it. It just wasn't worth the stress. I learned some lessons through this situation and I really believe all the prayers being prayed for us made a difference in the end result.

So, we said some hard goodbyes (to loved friends and family, it was a very emotional day for me and a rough time for Ev saying goodbye to her 2 good buddies too) and wrapped a few things up that day and we headed on the road that evening. The trip overall went well.

I'll have to add one funny story that happened at one of the hotels we stayed at, as after it happened I told Ran, I'll have to blog that! hee hee Whenever we leave any hotel room either he or I will check under the beds to make sure that nothing got kicked under and ultimately forgotten. Well some funny room decorator must realize that alot of people do that, so along the underneath bed frame it's lined with a mirror. So, when Ran looked under the bed someone was lying under the bed staring back at him and he was quite startled. Of course it was just his own reflection!! When he told me what happened we got a good laugh about it, or I had a good laugh at his expense and whenever I think of it, it makes me chuckle.

We got to our rental house on Sunday and we were met here by our friends the Andersons.

...and so begins the next chapter...

We're Here!!

We are officially moved down south! My battery on my computer is going to die any second and I'm in Panera with a crazy lightning thunderstorm going on outside. The lights are flickering a little in here, so I decided not to plug it in. So... I'll probably have to wait til Friday, when our internet gets hooked up and do some major updating of the past weekend/week, but all is well, we got our stuff and are getting settled in.

More to follow soon!!

Trying to Sing and Not Thud...

From my bible reading last week: (I think we can all fit in personal "thumps" into this one)

James 1: 1-27

Life Lesson that goes along with the reading:

Situation: James knew that Christians scattered all over the world would face challenges to their faith. If they were to remain faithful, their beliefs needed to be not only intellectual, but also very practical. He urged his readers to put their faith in action.

Observation: God allows tough situations in our lives in order to refine us and bring us closer to him. We should approach these times with a right attitude and seek wisdom from God.

Inspiration: When a potter bakes a pot, he checks its solidity by pulling it out of the oven and thumping it. If it "sings" it's ready. If it "thuds", it's placed back in the oven. The character of a person is also checked by thumping.

Been thumped lately?

Late-night phone calls. Grouchy teacher. Grouchy moms. Burnt meals. Flat tires. "You've got to be kidding" deadlines. Those are thumps. Thumps are those irritating inconveniences that trigger the worst in us. They catch us off guard. Flat footed. They aren't big enough to be crises, but if you get enough of them, watch out! Traffic jams. Long lines. Empty mailboxes. Dirty clothes on the floor...Thump. Thump. Thump. How do you respond? Do I sing? Or do I thud? Jesus said that out of the nature of the heart a man speaks (Luke 6:45). There's nothing like a good thump to reveal the nature of a heart. The true character of a person is seen not in momentary heroics, but in the thump-packed humdrum of day-to-day living.

Living in Limbo-Take 3

Welcome to our 3rd location in over 3 weeks; if it wasn't so pathetic I'd laugh out loud and likely will one day. We are now staying at a parsonage owned by CHC, it's the house Randy's parents used to live in. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for a roof over our heads and the house is spacious, however, it is mostly empty. We decided to stay in and use one room for all of us, using the bathroom and the kitchen (on a very limited basis). (I will note that when we came here we thought it would be from Sat. night to Mon./Tues. the latest).
We are sleeping on an air bed, Everlea on a crib mattress on the floor we found up in the attic. We had some bedding in Ran's truck but we are borrowing towels.
There is no TV, so I watch the occasional rented or library movie on the computer after Everlea goes to bed; Ev has little to no toys or books here, so we try and spend most of our time outside. Today we went to the Deering Reservoir for a few hours as a family which was nice and the weather was beautiful. Ran is going to try and work for the next 2 days and tomorrow it is supposed to rain, so I'll have to get creative. :)

Suppers are getting interesting too, last night we got a rotisserie chicken and some corn on the cob. We have some paper plates, plastic cutlery and cups, but we have no pots and pans, utensils, bowls, spices, etc. etc. So Ran wet the corn in the husk and microwaved them. Not too bad. Tonight we had the leftover chicken and grilled some summer squash and zucchini on the grill, which I ate as is (pretty yummy) and Ran turned his and Ev's into soup, adding the chicken and veggies to Ramon noodle soup. He also seasoned the veggies with a little of the soup powder. They ate it out of 2 mugs we happened to have with us in the car. Did I use the word pathetic yet in this post? I really am laughing as I type this...it all seems really funny to me all of a sudden as I read it back to myself, maybe it's the insanity kicking in. :)

It is looking like the closing will be on Friday a.m. (as told to us today by the mortgage broker) but we have yet to have confirmation from the closing co. and will not take her word until we get the call from them. It's a long story, one I'm not going to type out in this post, but we made mention of getting a real estate lawyer involved and we started getting people taking us seriously...or so we hope. We should know for sure tomorrow and if not, a lawyer will definitely be getting involved. Another part of this continuing drama has been issues with the buyer of our house. We've been renting our house to her these past 3+ weeks and have accommodated her in every way possible and recently she informed us that we were charging her to much and she didn't want to pay the whole amount owed. We are hoping and praying all of this will be resolved peacefully this week and that this story will have a happy ending.
Thanks for all the prayers sent our way...
oh and I have to make mention of Everlea's response when we got to the parsonage on Saturday night...as she walked into the big empty rooms of the house she exclaimed, "this is great, this is like a dream come true." Either that girl needs to dream bigger or we need to see life more through her eyes (or maybe a little of both... hee hee).

The Next Great Adventure...

Another bright spot this past weekend was being able to attend the huge goodbye party for our Pastor Lee at BCC, who is being led to start a new chapter of his/their life. He has served our church for 14 years (10 of which we have been in attendance) and we've enjoyed his services so much. He was culturally relevant, had good biblical content to his messages and was really humorous too.

The theme of the night was "The Next Great Adventure" (a spin off of the new Indiana Jones movie) and it was filled with lots of laughter and a few tears from some. Over 450 people were in attendance and some even came from out of state and from other churches (previous church attenders). It was a great evening.

Thank you Galucki family for your faithful service all these years. God Bless You as you start your next great adventure.

We're Going Places with God

One of the things I was bummed about missing when I thought we were going to be in NC weeks ago, was Everlea's end of school program and final picnic. But, what do you know, we are still here so we were able to attend.

The program theme was 'We're Going Places with God' and all the different age groups had their picture in either a hot air balloon, boat or train. At the end of each aisle was their name and either Drive, Place, Court, Ave. etc. (a road name). The kids sang many songs they learned throughout the year and Ev lasted for a few minutes up front with a teacher, but because we were rushing to get there from the DC a teacher whisked her up front and because she hasn't been to school in a few weeks I think she was a little confused, tired and extra emotional. So as soon as she saw me stand up to take a picture she broke down crying and ended up watching the rest of the program with me. It was slightly odd behavior to me, because these last few months she's turned into a little social butterfly, but our world lately has been a little upside down so I understood how she was a little out of sorts. Anyways, I was glad we were there and so were the teachers. As each child went up to receive their little certificate, a teacher read out loud what the child wanted to be when they grew up and what mom and dad did for a living.

This was what was read when we walked up... "When Everlea grows up she wants to be a princess, her mom makes her pizzas and her dad gets lots of splinters" (something like that, can't remember the exact words). I thought that hilarious as I've never made a homemade pizza since she was born and we maybe have pizza once a month. The splinter thing with daddy was pretty right on though, :) she comes up with some funny things about us sometimes, quite the imagination.

After the program our friends Mark, Elijah, Logan and Cam picked us up and we enjoyed the picnic at the tracking station. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time.

I was telling someone the other day, despite all the stresses of the delayed closing, there has been some bright spots, and being able to attend this event was definitely was one of them.

Memorial Day at Salisbury Beach
