Our new set of wheels...

...and I say "new" loosely because the car is 15 yrs old, but it's new to us...and when I say "our", it's technically Ran's new commuter car, but I've been enjoying it too in the evenings and will use it occasionally on the weekends. :)

Everlea's car seat just fits in the back seat, so she's really enjoyed the few rides she's had in it and informed me on our ride home from picking it up that she no longer wanted to drive in mama's car. :)

We decided with the combination of gas prices, Ran's new 30 mile commute, and his use of a work van once he's at the office, we no longer needed his big ol' truck right now. His lease matures in a few weeks, so we were on the lookout for a cheap little car for him that's reliable and good on gas. He had a few in mind that he was looking for, but a toyota celica was on the top of his list.
It's kind of a long story how we ended up getting the car the way we did, and without the long winded details, we basically saw it on Craigslist first and then ultimately got it through an ebay auction and drove 2hrs down to South Carolina to pick it up. We bought it sight unseen, but after numerous phone conversations with the seller (super nice guy) and seeing many online pictures, we were pretty sure what to expect and were not disappointed.

The car is in great shape for the year (1993), it was right in the low price range we were looking at, and the convertible part of it is appealing. We had a few celicas in our early years of dating and marriage so it's kind of neat to come full circle to one again.

It's been a nice little ride, and all of a sudden my evening jaunts to the grocery store a mile up the road have become a little more fun. :)
